Privacy Policy
How SportingZone collects, uses and protects personal information.
Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. Who we are
SportingZone is a trading name of MAISON DU COMMERCE LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17253948. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQEmail: support@sportingzone.co.uk
2. Information we collect
We do not offer customer accounts. When you browse, contact us or place a guest order, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, delivery and billing addresses, postcode and any telephone number or order note you provide.
- Your order, delivery, return, refund and customer-support history.
- Payment status, transaction references and fraud-prevention results. We do not store complete payment-card details.
- Your IP address, device, browser, referral source, session, security and website-interaction information.
- Messages and information you send through our contact channels.
3. Why we use personal information
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Process payment, fulfil, deliver and support your order | Performance of our contract with you |
| Keep tax, accounting and consumer-law records | Legal obligation |
| Secure the store, prevent fraud, diagnose faults and improve our service | Our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective store |
| Send requested service messages about orders and delivery | Performance of our contract with you |
| Send marketing where you have consented or where the law otherwise permits it | Consent or our legitimate interests, with a right to object |
4. Payments
The payment methods available to you are shown at checkout. Depending on the method selected, payment information may be handled by Stripe, Mollie or a banking provider. They receive the information needed to process and authenticate the transaction, prevent fraud and meet financial-law obligations. SportingZone receives payment status and transaction references, not your complete card details. Payment providers may act as independent controllers for some fraud-prevention and regulatory processing.
5. Delivery and Trackd
We share the details needed to fulfil an order with the relevant supplier, warehouse, courier or collection provider. When an order is dispatched, our Trackd service creates a tracking code and delivery-status history. SportingZone uses the delivery postcode locally to select a tracking flow. The public tracking service at trackfracht.de receives the tracking code, status descriptions and timestamps. Trackd does not send your name, email address, telephone number or delivery address to that public service.
6. Other recipients
We may share relevant information with:
- Website hosting, email, security, support and IT providers.
- WooCommerce and providers supporting checkout and order administration.
- Klaviyo, which supports website interaction measurement and permitted customer communications.
- Payment, fraud-prevention, fulfilment and delivery providers.
- Professional advisers, insurers, courts, regulators and public authorities where required.
We do not sell personal information.
7. International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards, we use an adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful safeguard. You may contact us for more information about the safeguard used for a particular transfer.
8. Retention
| Record | Normal retention |
|---|---|
| Orders, payments, refunds and tax records | Six years after the end of the relevant accounting period |
| Public Trackd tracking history | Up to 90 days |
| Support enquiries | Up to 24 months after the enquiry is closed |
| Security and diagnostic records | Normally up to 12 months |
| Marketing preferences | Until you withdraw consent, object, or the record is no longer needed |
We may keep information for longer where needed for a legal claim, regulatory request, fraud investigation or other legal obligation.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential storage needed for checkout, security, basket and session functions. WooCommerce attribution technology may record the page that brought you to the store, referral and campaign information, browser information and session data. Klaviyo technology may measure website and checkout interactions. Where consent is legally required, optional technology should be used only after that consent. You can also control storage through your browser, although blocking essential storage may prevent checkout from working.
10. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to:
- Provide access to your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete or restrict the use of information.
- Provide eligible information in a portable format.
- Stop processing based on legitimate interests.
- Stop direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
These rights can be subject to legal exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. Complaints
Email a data-protection complaint to support@sportingzone.co.uk. Tell us what happened, when it happened and what outcome you are seeking. We will acknowledge the complaint within 30 days, investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate and explain the outcome.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office through ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
12. Changes
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version and its update date will be published here.
